We have just had one of our MOST popular and versatile spaces become available. These bigger spaces come up very rarely - people tend to stay awhile. This one can be taken as a whole space, divided into two large spaces OR even 3 or 4 smaller. In the photo's it is the entire area above the stairs, so naturally divides really well. (This price is based on it being divided by three, but the more space you take, the less cost).
There are 12 studios in the ARTspace - and this one is a gem. You are in the centre of the space - great lighting - airflow. Space suits any creative field (more so if you take as a whole). We are yet to find the right person to join our creative cohorts - but it might be you!!! You will be sharing the ARTspace with other painters/restorers/designers - we're not picky about your occupation (just your sense of humour!)
Prices are usage dependant with 24 hour access. There are kitchen and bathroom facilities. The ARTspace is an Artist run space, non profit driven - so prices are not negotiable. Inclusive of all amenities. Internet usage is shared between us, so we divide the cost between us - seriously amazing unlimited connection!

SO WHAT IS THE ARTSPACE?
Simply, a space for the ARTS. A destination/location/platform set up by Kere M Baker of Red Olive Studios. After an entire year of searching, and finiding anywhere remotely local was either short term and/or ridiculously expensive, an idea formed and a space presented itself. In an effort to provide affordable Studio and Exhibition space, somewhere for local creatives to, well, create…the underground ARTspace was founded. It is now the home of ten creatives at any given time. We have painters, designers, photographers, candle makers, authors - you bring your vision, and we provide the space.
Initially the ARTspace flew under the Red Olive Studios banner, however the ARTspace itself has been the core of it all,the constant, a continuing and functions very independantly, with a sincerely awesome bunch or locals doing what they do.
Our goals and plans for the New Year are to continue to educate, create and become more of a collective. We host kids and Adults Creative classes, both with our own Artists network, and with others coming in to host their own – so there’ll be lots of opportunities and perspectives.
WHAT OF THE ARTSPACE…
It’s an Underground space, which is quite special – there’s a kind of exclusive, boutique feel about it. It’s raw and industrial, and pretty unique really. There’s also an incredible backyard which has seen many days with easels and paint on sunny days, bubbles and tealight candles on opening nights…Something for everyone! We’ve had the studios running since Easter 2010, and the Gallery part of the space officially opened with astounding success on August 5th 2010 with the group show ‘Editors Pic(k)s’.
It’s a really wonderful space, with kitchen and full bathroom facilities, an incredible leafy and inspiring backyard and in the company of some beautiful and talented like minded people.
Even if you’re not looking for a Studio or Exhibition space, you might be wanting to run workshops/seminars/lectures/functions or hold Art classes, - all of which we’re really open to having a chat about. I’m personally wanting someone to do some hebel sculpting lessons – that’s something I’ve wanted to do for a long time…Watch this space!
